So I won a really nice camera...

...and consequently, photography has become my new hobby. I won a competition through work and decided that live performance would be a good avenue to explore as there are only so many photos that I can take of my wife or of our cats!

I'd like to know what you think. I'm very much a beginner and probably never would've gone out of my way to buy an ace camera and lens like the ones I won, but y'know...you have to appreciate the opportunities that are thrown to you in life. It would have been a bit soul-less to have just sold the camera without even seeing if I could make good use of it first. And I'm glad I tried because there are some pics in there that I am really proud of and I hope to take a lot more in the future. Luckily, I have a very good relationship with my local live music venue and am able to go down there whenever I like and practice taking photos, using the bands as my guinea pigs. So far, so good as far as I can tell :) The bands in the pictures are The Servant (sitting down acoustic band), World Inferno Friendship Society (8 piece punk rock crazy bastards!) and Pete Briley.
